Not working as I had hoped

Not non stick :-(

Thank you for sharing your experience and we are sorry you are having difficulty with the 4.5' Skillet. You are correct in your statement that Xtrema Cookware is not non-stick nor do we market it as such. Xtrema is the healthy alternative to metal and non-stick cookware. There are no synthetic non-stick coatings on our cookware. We believe in cooking the natural way. With that said, there are ways to prevent food from sticking. Always heat the pan on low for 2-minutes, then add your cooking spray and cook on a low to medium heat setting. Add oil as needed. You can also use a bit of water to keep the pan wet. Here is a link with more great tips: https://www.xtrema.com/pages/how-to-use You can also reach out to Rich the founder at rich@ceramcor.com if you need further assistance. We want to make sure you are satisfied.

You bet - I would buy this product again and again.

The only con of this cookware that gets in my way is that every few years I break a piece when I'm going too fast.

Jury is still out.

Not sure how I like this pan. Probably because I'm used to cooking with a metal pan. Doesn't seem to get as hot as my other pans. I do like knowing that it is a healthier way to cook. I hope I get used to it.

Yes I would buy this product again

cracked at below medium heat

Bought two for 135. I like the way they work, cook well and would give more stars for that. A bit stickier than I thought, but with careful pre-application, works. One of them after sitting at heat just below medium (but it may have been for two long) suffered a small, hairline crack, so that was a loss of $60 within the first three days as I disposed of it. Other one is ok and I just am putting the heat much lower than just below medium. Thank you.

Pleasantly Surprised!

This 7” skillet was the second piece of Xtrema cookware that I bought. I cannot easily verify that this cookware lives up to the purity or safety claims but I love the way it cooks food and the food, without a doubt tastes better. I hate to admit it but I had been using the dreaded Teflon cookware up until now. This purchase is part of a radical program of ridding my life of as many health hazards as possible. From clean healthy food, soaps, clothing, cookware, eating utensils, water and anything else that substantial research reveals! BTW... I’m not OCD, just having fun with it!

Perfect for eggs

This pan is perfect for cooking 1-3 eggs. I have had it for just under 3 years now and it's still good as new. It takes some getting used to, but you'll learn to love it. We cook eggs in butter with it on a gas stove on the lowest heat setting with the lid on. No flipping required, just cook til they're done. We also use it to heat up 1-2 portions of leftovers.

It's super easy to clean, even if some food gets caked on. If it's really stuck on, just soak for an hour or so and it'll scrub right off. It's pretty light because it's so small, which is great since I'm less anxious about accidentally dropping it. Love this pan!

Good product but 7" pan too small for my needs

I primarily use this pan to cook egg dishes for breakfast. Everything I have cooked so far tastes noticeably better than in my old pan. I think this is because I am able to use very low heat and still cook evenly. I will be purchasing a larger pan as well as trying a medium sized pot.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I absolutely LOVE my skillets and pots. I would highly recommend it. Here are some tips: if you're looking for quick heating, quick fix meals, and don't have time to take care of cookware, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. This cookware is soo easy clean, DOESNT not burn food or stick IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT PROPERLY. Best way to cook in it is slow heat and gradually increase heat to medium (low to medium heat) is best way. Also of course it is not NON STICK because it is all 100% ceramic, healthy and natural without any harmful chemicals. Please take your time to oil or butter it before making anything. clean up: all you need to do is while the skillet or pot is hot run it under hot water and use wooden spatula to scrape any food off. Another option is to wait until it is completely cooled to wash. it really is so easy to handle, take care of, easy clean and use. If you don't have the time to do all this please look elsewhere. But for people who take time to prepare healthy meals and for people who take their time to take care of their cookware, this is the one stop shop. i will be ordering more this coming fall as i am eagerly waiting for all the pots.

I wish I could afford a whole set :(

It takes a few tries to get used to cooking with this cookware, but after you forget everything you've learned in the past and REALLY follow the instructions it comes with, its super easy to use and easy to clean. I just LOVE it. I wish I could afford a whole set :(

Great Pan

This pan is the perfect size for a couple of eggs or a grilled cheese sandwich. It is light enough for me to lift easily. And, I love that it is made from clean ingredients.

The Best Omelets

My first piece of Xtrema and so impressed. I can definitely say I will be buying more pieces. It cooks wonderful omelets and everyone enjoys the end product. It cooks beautifully for any other types of food.

UNIQUE DESIGN!

I love using this pan for cooking eggs and omelets! I also enjoy sautéing garlic, onions, ginger, mushrooms and most for anything. I am confident and secured that no harsh materials are leaching on my food that's why I am switching to EXTREMA COOKWARES. Thank you Bill and Bob for designing and offering for sale the most outstanding, healthy cookwares one can find.

Disappointing

Twice I've tried cooking an egg exactly the way that was shown in the demonstration video. The eggs stuck to the pan and the pan was hard to clean. Totally disappointed, but I rewrapped it to put under the tree as a gift and don't have the original packing material. Otherwise I would love to return it. It was expensive too.

not good for eggs, as billed

I bought this to cook eggs, but I cannot fry an egg or make an omelette, only scramble because it doesn't heat evenly, the outsides of the pan cook the egg much faster and browns before the middle part of the egg is any where near cooked...frustrating!! I enjoy all the other pots and pans, but not this one...it's a bust.

Good nontoxic product but odd shape

We recently moved and the movers broke our pan but the lid survived so I purchased a replacement pan. It isn't a perfect circle so the lid I have doesn't quite fit on the new pan. We don't have a lot of money as a military family that moves every 3 years so I was trying to save money by not purchasing the set. Lesson learned: of you are replacing broken items, you will have to replace the set, not just the broken pieces if you want everything to fit correctly. Other than that, it performs great and I really appreciate the cleaning and care instructions that come with it. I prefer this 100 times more than any toxic non-stick pan and much more than the cast iron skillet my husband likes (which is also nontoxic but way too heavy). In short, if you want a nontoxic , non-stick pan this is the one to buy. It isn't as non-stick as teflon but it is much better than stainless steel.

AMAZING

This is my first xtrema pan and it does everything it claims to do! the very first thing I cooked in it had so much more flavor than ever before. Cooking low and slow is easier than high heat with a lot of spatter and odor. I bought it as part of removing toxins from my environment but this pan is also a joy for my taste buds. Bye bye old cookware.

My wife and I love the skillet and will be purchasing more Xtrema Cookware

Sadly, but food burns on this skillet

This is a follow-up to my previous comment just upon receiving this skillet. Though everything about this skillet's appearance, finish and construction is very good, the very reason I bought it for -- for my food not to burn or stick to the skillet -- sadly isn't there. Food gets burnt and sticks to the bottom EASILY and quite quickly EVEN if I use a low heat/flame and plenty of good quality oil or butter Once it happens, to clean it takes an arm and a leg. Following instructions to use Brillo pads, made issues even worse: the shiny surface got scratched and had gray streaks from the pad. To clean it I used an old advice given to me by a Cust. Service for my Koehler's white enamel kitchen sink: in order to remove metal scratches and marks in my sink, to use a wine cork for rubbing problem areas with either Comet or Ajax.kitchen scratch-free cleaners. I did it and only then did all the Brillo pads' scratches from the shiny surface of the skillet disappear. Next, contrary to what they say, that the skillet takes a long time to heat, it heats up VERY quickly and any oil/butter you add to it even on a small-medium flame starts to burn within 1-2 minutes max.. You have a false sense of security that though the skillet is big and heavy, it behaves like its cast iron counterpart. Absolutely not! Even though the food might not get all the poison leaking from Teflon, Nickel or other metals used in other brands skillets, food that gets burnt in my 100% ceramic is of little consolation. So, be aware of this fact when you weigh ecological goodness vs. possibility of having your dinner burnt. I thought that with a purchase of this unique skillet my search for a non-stick frying pan/skillet would be over, but sadly that was not my experience with this greatly coined, but still lacking kitchen utensil. So, it's with some reservations that I can recommend this skillet to prospective buyers.

Insanely fast delivery

I can't believe how quick the delivery was. 3 states away and not even 24 hours passed after placing my order and I already hold it in my hands. Will not write anything about its use for now, as I just got it -- only that it indeed looks gorgeous and relatively light (compared to my smaller cast iron one). Will add more after giving it my first test-drive.

Once again very happy

I became very tired of "non-stick" pans that lose their non-stick within a year. Where did it go? I guess I ate it. :O :Q Now I finally got this skillet. It's fantastic! Follow the directions and it's more non-stick than my "non-stick" stuff was! I was worried it'd be too heavy: not so. I was worried the handle would get too hot: not so. Use LOW heat - go lower than you think you need (just sautee'd shrimp in garlic butter on the lowest setting) & give it time to come up to temp... perfect stuff. Looking for heirloom buy once cookware? This stuff is it!

Eggs don't stick, if you follow the directions

I followed the directions and my eggs didn't stick. They slid around on the bottom of the pan. You've just got to keep the temperature at or below medium heat. Pre-spray the pan with cooking spray. Then heat the pan for 3-5 min (I had to do 5 min since I have an electric stove top). Crack the egg in and watch it sizzle. I like sunny side up eggs. We did scrambled eggs and the eggs were very fluffy. When scrambled some egg will remain in the pan, but it cleans up so easily. The cooking surface seemed really level. I did have to level the stove since I noticed it wasn't level. No more than one egg in the pan stay where I crack them. We love that there are no metals used in the construction of this pan.
